Arkansas Energy Network was formed in 2007, with the goal of developing a state-wide fuel fund for Arkansas. We are a 501(c)3 corporation whose mission is to provide utility payment assistance to low income elderly or disabled Arkansans who are experiencing financial hardships. Funding for our program comes from utilities, their stockholders, customers, and concerned citizens.
Our partnering utility companies cover the administrative costs of operating the program so 100% of donated funds can be used for customer assistance. In addition to covering the administrative costs, utilities also generously match each donation, dollar-for-dollar, thus doubling the impact of donations.
We serve our clients through a network of 25 community partner agencies, with over 100 local intake sites where trained intake workers meet clients and accept applications.
